If I do buy it, would I be able to "turn off", opt not to use the extra damage and other status upgrades? Have a "clean" game? I don't know why wouldn't there be an option like that, but who knows? What are other advantages of buying it besides the lower price for future more expensive DLC? (So I still considers to buy it even if not for the day one add to the experience).

One thing I understood is it's all about yet to be released content, but I noticed that there are day 1 content as well. If you are using PS3, select PS3 tab on the application.
